A "dip wash:"  Occasionally, we convinced the Army to assist us in removing unwanted salt residue from our helicopters which served aboard aircraft carriers.  Here, an Army Helicopter Company's H-54 crew was talked into "dip washing" one of our aircraft in a local Vietnamese fresh water river.  In this case, Whitehorn's bird gets a free cleaning.

Bob Ruse's YW-20 doesn't pass QC (quality control) inspection, when the blades were folded, they folded "backward."  To this day a question remains as to whom should get the credit.

Sgt. Anderson at the left side gunners position watches the scenery on the way into an LZ designated for a Force Recon insertion, while Capt. Roederer takes the bird in.  The crew/chief, Bob Ruse, was shot in the knee less than two minutes after having taken this photo on 11 May 1967.

"Caught in the act!" Crew/chief Joe Silveira is on top of his bird preflighting.  On this fateful day, 11 May 1967, Joe was the "wingman" for Bob Ruse during the insert of the Recon Marines.

This is probably the officer's club at MACS-7, popular because of electricity and refrigeration. Wayne Sutter on the left, Lt. "Oink" Johnson in the center, and probably Tom Shea on the right.
